Patients recovering from COVID-19 often experience symptoms that limit their ability to function and may lead to a loss of independence. These complications, can persist even after discharge from the hospital or after recovery at home. Symptoms may include, among others:

  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Loss of strength/Muscle weakness
  • Joint pain
  • Changes in balance/dizziness
  • Memory or concentration issues
  • Difficulty swallowing (particularly if intubated)

As a leader in Therapy Services, Southwest General offers treatment to help patients recovering from COVID-19 understand their symptoms and work through the limitations that can result from the virus, so they can resume the activities of daily living and return to the life they knew.

How We Can Help

We offer an experienced team of physical, occupational and speech therapists. Our experts work one-on-one with each patient to assess his or her level of functioning and recommend a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan to help the patient return to higher level of functioning.

We offer both in-person and video visits to meet patient needs. All major insurances accepted.

How to Get Started

To participate in our COVID-19 Recovery Program, you must meet guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that define when persons with COVID-19 may discontinue home isolation.

Therapy Services offers a wide variety of treatment options at conveniently located Southwest General facilities in Brunswick, Middleburg Heights, North Royalton and Strongsville. To accommodate busy schedules, evening and weekend hours are available.

Since the passage of Ohio’s Direct Access Bill in 2004, patients may schedule a physical therapy appointment without a physician’s prescription or referral. Some health insurance restrictions may apply. We will confirm with your insurance provider(s). All major insurances accepted.

Our highly skilled, licensed, experienced physical therapists are educated to assess, diagnose and treat an injury—or refer you to your physician or a specialist.
